awesome program. It still has issues, however, with sites such as doctoroz.com on their video downloader, prolly due to the style of embedding. I would love a followup on this issue, and a response from your team on how i would go about ripping that source. I have found, however, they are using an RTMP style streamer, and even can get the links... but not the file.
much regards, -Rave

I am really pissed, I paid $70.00 for a video down loader program that refuses to work. Maybe I am not making my self clear to So Think. My problem is that their is no ROUND CIRCLE WITH A WHITE ARROW IN IT. To tell it where I want the video to be put. But the program used to work. What would you do? So Think keeps telling me to reinstall the program, but it dose not work. I do not know what to do. Give up? Thanks.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox v 3.0.10 and your product works reasonably well with this although it doesn't always recognise that a video (YouTube) is playing. Sometimes it's necessary to reopen the YouTube page a couple of times and/or expand the YouTube display to full-screen in order to trigger the "Sothink Web Video Downloader for Firefox" into action. It's a pity that a complicated download page(Tab) is opened when you download something - couldn't this be made simpler and smaller. Also find it annoying that the download page/tab remains open after download - requiring an extra action to go to this page/tab and close it.

I deleted it
Sorry to write this, but I deleted this downloader. It picked up every flash that opened. Then, it did not download the ones I wanted. They stayed in "pending" so I deleted it. Thanks for trying! It may work better for other folks.

good job boys
I found a nice little Sothink utility the other day, courtesy of Sothink Web Video Downloader for Firefox. It has the world’s good name and works so well that I think that can be exclusive. (but seriously, ask a co-worker, “Did you grab Sothink Web Video Downloader yet?” and marvel at the looks you get…) And you know what? That pretty much nails it. Install it and you get a new toolbar in your Firefox. But this brings them all together and saves us from yet more right-clicking and waiting. For that alone it so very useful.

Great Video Downloader
This program has captured everything I have wanted to download. In fact it sometimes works too good. It would be nice to have a handy on/off switch and a thumbnail view next to each file.

Sothink Web Video Downloader
Didn't much lke this software, it runs OK but seems to be a bit intrusive. I'm ot sure I will continue to use it on my Imac. I had used it before on a PC and found it satisfactory but the Mac version doesn't seem to work as well.

.flv converter
The downloader works very well. When I used it, it prompted me to order a .flv to .avi converter, which I did. I have not yet received verification of the order, not instructions re downloading it.

I did not get it to work on the video I was
The web video probably works on all the popular sites. Infact by accident I did download a video off Utube. It seems to start up when ever I view a video. I was unable to get it to work on a private site. I am not sure if it was a permission issue or what but I had the site burn to DVD and mail to me. I have no need for the Web Video Downloader anymore.

So far so good.
Not sure yet, but so far things seem to be working. Still trying to get used to features and some of it's functions. But it is doing my main interest so far, and I have hopes it will prove quite useful.

did not work for me
I was looking for a tool to capture a flash presentation from the web. The tool did not perform and/or I could not find the way to get it working. Conclusion: I deinstalled the tool.

A nice program
Why do I want to download videoclips from internet? Beacuse you can not always trust the net. As you now the net is not always available. Doint presentations it is very convenient to have a copy of the file on the desktop.

not bad
Pretty good tool. Doesn't work for all forms of online movie content.
Most of the major American broadcasting companies block content outside of US.
Shame your tool can't grab from them. Thought it might have been able to. Can't watch my favourites.
Have not had a TV for a few years as the internet has become more important than TV so I tend to watch most stuff online now. US TV shows are not easy to see.

Review for Sothink
I have tried a few software programs to try and download flv files, but Sothink is for me the easiest to use and also the fastest. The quality of the downloads are very good too.

It`s ingenious! But contains some bugs though
It was really easy to use and there's an instant pop-up from where you can download from. I can download quicktime movies that I couldn't have downloaded with other machines, and it saved my ass for doing a movie report once! My biggest issue here is that it doesn't download the music too. I tried downloading music from iMeem but I did but the resulting file couldn't play. One more thing, this thing might have made the stand-alone program not work, but I'm not sure.
Anyways, keep developing this baby. Me and my friends think it's really promising...

Not bad at all
Pretty straightforward program. Doesn't take much effort to capture video, perhaps not the answer if you're looking at high quality reproduction, but easy enough if you just want to save something you've viewed.

Just a Comment...
The interface, altogether, is really easy to use and understand. Although, when downloading videos, the program doesn't automatically add the ending ".flv" to each video. It would be nice if there was a feature that you could turn on and off that allow the program to just automatically add that ending.
